Forty-five years after it was first launched, the flag-ship moisturiser of the world’s first ever dermatologist-created, prestige brand, has undergone its first reformulation.
Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion+ has been launched after 6.5 years of research and clinical trials, with additional new ingredients.
Millions of women (and men) use the iconic yellow moisturiser, which is fragrance free and allergy tested, as part of Clinique’s 3-Tep Skin care System. So why did the company decide to change the No1 women’s skincare product in the UK?
Janet Pardo, Clinique’s Senior Vice President of Global Product Development explains: “The world has changed. Skin care technology has changed. And so we have changed. As a leader in treating dermatological concerns, we felt a responsibility to reformulate the beloved and iconic Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, while preserving that qualities that made it so adored and essential to millions of women around the world.”
The Barrier Strengthening Complex in the new formulation has the same trusted ingredients – a blend of sunflower seed cake, barley extract and cucumber that helps to strengthen the skin’s barrier, making it more resilient and resistant to environmental stress.
The new ingredients are special power moisturisers:
- Hyaluronic Acid to help skin hold onto moisture for improved hydration
- Glycerin, a well-known humectant that attracts moisture to the skin
- Urea which occurs naturally in skin to boost the skins own moisturising factors
The new product required the input of three dermatologists, 53 researchers and 100 trials of different formulas. Over 1,600 women of different ethnicities from 5 countries participated in the testing which uncovered the following average results:
- 54% improvement in the skin’s barrier strength in 8 weeks
- A doubling of moisturisation levels in the skin
We are testing this new lotion and will let you have our feedback in a few weeks.
The reformulated Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ goes on sale in the UK from July 12. Cost are: 125ml with Pump costs £29.50/€42.00; 125ml: £28.00/€40; 50ml bottle/tube £17.00/€24.00.
